I attended the AWS Summit in New York in June 2016. There were over 10,000 people there. Werner Vogels gave the keynote speech, and it was inspiring to understand the history and how rapidly this platform is evolving. He also took some shots at the legacy vendors and the traditional IT procurement model. I took two of the bootcamps - Infrastructure as code, which was a focused, hands-on lab for provisioning infrastructures through Cloudformation scripting. The second bootcamp I attended was the OPSWorks - which essentially is hosted Chef for automating configuration management. .

I attended the AWS User Group Meetup in Weston Florida in September at Ultimate Software. Quite a good turnout! Docker containers are a hot subject. On November 3rd, the Team will be hosting another meetup - this time in Doral, at the Carnival Cruise Lines headquarters. The subject will be AWS Redshift Overview.
